# Pokémon Journey · Connected regions Play locally at http://127.0.0.1:8881/pallet-world/index.html. Refresh to load this version. Your existing party, box, bag, money and progress use the same browser save. Keep using the same host and port to retain that save. ## Hoenn access repair Hoenn now has a full traversal repair: continuous early-route borders, matching source stair/boardwalk repairs, working cave floors and clear NPC/arrival corridors. The installed controller checks reach all 310 maps and pass all 204 doorway round trips, 72 scrolling-border directions and 44 transfer-route exits. See `hoenn-access-repair-notes.md` and `hoenn-full-access-validation.json`. ## Controls - **Battle: New style / Old style**, in the top bar, chooses the combat rules for your next battle and remembers your preference. The selector is locked during combat, conversations, menus, loading and pause. New style remains the default. - **Old style:** choose a move with a button or 1–4, then wait while the turn resolves. Priority and Speed determine move order; accuracy, PP, stats and type matchups use the supplied move data. Switching, throwing a ball or attempting to flee takes a turn. Status damage happens at the end of a turn, never while you are choosing. Dash and Auto are hidden. The same trainer parties, captures, rewards and optional 2v2 format work in this mode; your partner and opponents choose their own turn actions. PP and major status conditions survive switching within the battle. Real-time movement and cooldown controls below apply to New style. - WASD / arrows: move. Shift: run outside combat. In battle, Shift or the Dash button dodges in your movement direction; while standing still, it dodges away from the opponent. Every species has two dash charges. Missing charges recharge one at a time, two seconds per charge; switching does not refill them. - E: talk, enter a doorway, use the PC or a gym switch/warp pad. Click a doorway or NPC to approach it. - M: region map, badges and Fly to visited towns. Every town arrives directly outside its own Pokémon Center; starting towns without a Center return you to your home. - T: party and bag outside combat. In combat, click a portrait in the permanent party strip to switch; T focuses that strip. New style uses a 10-second switch cooldown; Old style spends your turn instead. A fainted partner is replaced automatically. - Click a move or press 1–4 to cast it immediately toward the opponent's current position. Q/E selects a move. Auto (or R) repeats the selected move when its cooldown is ready. Hold Space for the same automatic aiming while held, or hold the mouse button on the arena to aim manually. - Aim is sampled when casting. Projectiles, including Swift, keep their initial direction; delayed fields remain at their original target position. Moving out of the way can avoid them. - B: Poké Ball. The Master Ball button guarantees a wild catch. Trainer Pokémon cannot be caught. - Face water and press E to Surf with a healthy Water-type partner or Mew. F fishes at the shore or while surfing. Walk toward shore for a short safe landing hop. Surf ends once the entire collision footprint is on dry ground; click walking continues toward its destination. - P / Escape: pause. Sound is optional. Old style now uses the supplied classic battle artwork: rear-facing player sprites, front-facing opponents, location-appropriate backdrops and platforms, original HP panels and command buttons. Choose **Fight**, **Bag**, **Pokémon**, or **Run**; **Back** returns to the four commands. Opening a menu does not spend a turn. Singles, doubles, shinies, copied forms, capture visuals and the existing keyboard controls remain supported. This presentation changes no move rules, stats, encounters, saves or New style rendering. ## Dark Horizon - Aurelia Choose **Mum -> Travel -> Dark Horizon -> Yes**. You arrive beside Mum in the original Lone Island home, with your existing party, boxes, items and saves. The original Aurelia chart is available with M. Native ships and transit NPCs provide the original destination choices; E talks, examines objects and enters doors. This expansion adds **154 connected native maps**, **223 doorway pairs**, **90 native travel interactions / 754 destination choices**, **217 trainer interactions with 467 original party variants**, **476 local residents**, **86 native chests**, and **five original Poke Spot feeding stations**. All imported painted tile arrays and map dimensions match the archive exactly. The supplied tilesets, original character sheets, props, doors, animated frames and region chart supply the artwork. Repairs change passage, interaction and arrival metadata rather than painting a replacement layout. Both battle styles, optional doubles, upward trainer scaling with original minimum levels, individual stats, source-legal moves, catching, the shared PC and separate healing services remain available. Additional native trainer variants are under **More challengers / rematches**. Fifteen source boss milestones appear beneath the region map. Fly serves the starting island and five settlements with actual Centers. Oceanheart remains available by native ship/chart travel; it has no source Center doorway. Wild encounters follow this project's original feeding-station system. Place a Poke Snack, or buy/place one for 100, at Volcano Beach, Cenote Cave, Cliff Island, Coral Reef or Magnet Ridge. Each station uses its own native species and level 10-19 range. Ordinary cities and interiors do not gain random encounters. Scizor retains its scripted level-35 field encounter. Wild shiny rolls remain 1/2,048. Ninety-two native Shadow partners can instead be recovered once from their own trainer after winning the appropriate party variant; Snover and Tropius retain their source gift interactions. Supported evolutions bring the obtainable partner checklist to 200 species. ### Scope of the adaptation This imports the explorable world into Pokemon Journey's engine. It does **not** execute the original Ruby engine or recreate every native cutscene, quest condition, cinematic boss effect, held-item script or puzzle. Conditional story passages and scripted travel use declarative menus. Shadow partners become ordinary recovered partners; in-battle Snagging, Shadow moves, heart gauges and purification are not implemented. Source item names and quantities are saved in the regional inventory; supported balls, potions and candy also use the shared inventory, while arbitrary original item scripts are not executed. The archive has 180 map records: two blank organizational headers, seven intro/credits/developer/non-walkable cinematic records, and a 17-map unused branch without a native incoming transfer or chart landing are excluded from normal travel. The original source archive remains untouched. Included rooms retain their native layouts. This is a local fan-game world adaptation, not a port of the entire original story engine. ### Verification Installed-build checks cover all 154 maps reached from Mum through the real movement controller; every imported doorway, habitat and NPC; all 754 native travel choices; 223 doorway round trips; all 86 chest interactions and duplicate-reward prevention; both battle styles across all 467 trainer variants; recoveries and gifts; Center healing and PC access; Fly; original pixel/data preservation; and save/reload plus all installed Mum destinations. Core battle and classic-presentation regressions also pass. Local rendered scene inspection was performed; a fresh interactive browser playtest was unavailable in this session. Reports: darkhorizon-runtime-validation.json, darkhorizon-doorway-validation.json, darkhorizon-movement-validation.json, darkhorizon-campaign-validation.json, darkhorizon-native-validation.json and darkhorizon-save-validation.json. ## Tiall · Lappet Town Choose **Mum → Travel → Tiall → Yes** to arrive beside Mum in the original Lappet player’s house. Tiall adds **72 playable maps**: all 67 painted source maps, a matching fixed cave room for the source’s empty procedural Dungeon, and four separate raised bridge decks. Cedolan City, Lerucean Town, Routes 1–8, Natural Park, the Safari area, caves, department store, Frontier and the two offshore islands retain their original layouts and Tiall21 assets. The region map uses the verified original mapRegion8 chart. Oak offers the native Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle choices. Cedolan’s Brock and Champion Blue keep their source parties and minimum levels; all opposing trainers scale upward using the shared rules. The native encounter tables, gifts and supported evolutions provide a **245-species field checklist**. Both battle styles, optional doubles, catches, individual stats, PC storage and the shared save remain available. The four raised Route 2 bridges separate deck movement from the water and paths beneath. Staff remain behind counters with reachable interaction points. Centers separate healing and PC access; Fly serves the five settlements with a Center or starting home. Offshore islands and the landing remain accessible through the harbor. Department-store floors and facility rooms have working entrances and returns. The source is an Essentials demonstration region. Developer/debug interactions are excluded; unsupported Frontier formats use standard trainer battles, and selected tutorial, casino-prize and fossil rewards use documented research gifts. Headbutt, Rock Smash, contest and time-dependent species use compatible same-map encounter adaptations. See `tiall-release-notes.md`, `tiall-map-provenance.json` and the Tiall validation reports. Verification used runtime/controller checks and rendered-map inspection; no fresh manual browser playtest is claimed. ## Orange Islands portion Choose **Mum → Travel → Orange Islands → Yes** to arrive at your Valencia home. The requested portion includes the thirteen painted source areas: Valencia, Tangelo, Mikan, Navel, Trovita, Kumquat, Pummelo, Shamouti, Hamlin, Ascorbia, Mandarin Island North and Routes 50–51. There are **104 connected maps**, including working building interiors, Center upstairs rooms, three elemental shrines and the original outdoor Pummelo stadium. Boatkeepers connect the islands through their existing shores; the region map is a labelled survey of the supplied layouts. The four Orange Crew leaders use distinct original room compositions. Earn their badges to challenge Drake in the native stadium. These are normal battle adaptations for both Old style and New style, with optional doubles and the shared level-scaling rules. The anime's accuracy, climbing, racing and target trials are not simulated, and there is no invented Elite Four. Named original Professor Ivy and Drake sprites are reused; the four leaders use disclosed compatible original character aliases. The local field checklist contains **119 species** through habitat encounters, the Tangelo Lapras gift and evolution. Only the four source tall-grass areas have grass encounters; other habitats use their own Surf and fishing pools. The elemental birds have rare shrine habitats, Lugia has its designated Shamouti sea habitat, and Mew keeps its roaming exception. The rare and shiny odds remain 0.05% per eligible rare species and 1/2,048 respectively. All new towns share the existing party, PC storage, healing and Mum travel systems. The source contains no painted Orange interiors or encounter/trainer campaign. Missing rooms use unchanged compatible original compositions, and the campaign and habitat assignments are explicitly authored. Sixteen blank source placeholders and the rest of the archipelago are outside this partial release. See `orange-release-notes.md`, `orange-map-provenance.json` and the Orange validation reports. This expansion pass uses runtime checks and rendered-map inspection; browser control was unavailable, so it does not claim a fresh live-browser playtest. ## Pokémon Island Choose **Mum → Travel → Pokémon Island → Yes**. This is the custom island supplied in the asset project: its coastal town, ocean approach, forests, highlands, southern grove, outer coast and volcanic spiral. Its 26 maps retain the painted exterior layouts and use complete compatible original rooms for the missing interiors. The town has a Center with separate healing and PC services, a shop, research lab, boathouse, Mum and local residents. Three homes use distinct original bedroom, study and lounge compositions. The two raised plank bridges have separate upper and lower paths; original grass remains beneath them and their decks do not trigger wild encounters. The boathouse offers a returnable boat trip to the original southern beach, where Surf opens the outer coast. This replaces source ocean connections to unrelated maps without cutting cliffs or changing the island pixels. The region map is a proportional survey of the actual supplied geography. The source has no encounter tables or trainer campaign. The 30 habitat tables, 25 trainer challenges, ten local residents, Pichu nursery gift and 169-species field checklist are authored for its visible ecology. This is not an official regional Pokédex or a Pokémon Snap adaptation. Celebi has a designated rare West Forest grass habitat; Heatran has a rare-only volcanic sanctum. Both use the existing 0.05% rule, Mew keeps its roaming exception, and shinies remain 1/2,048. See `pokemonisland-release-notes.md` and its source, movement and content reports for details. ## Sevii Isles Choose **Mum → Travel → Sevii Isles → Yes**. All seven main islands connect through their original routes and ferry ports, with Mt. Ember, Icefall Cave, the Tanoby chambers, Rocket Warehouse, eight Trainer Tower floors, Navel Rock and Birth Island. The expansion uses 151 maps and the native island buildings and cave rooms. It has 107 trainer challenges and a 139-species local field checklist, with habitat-specific FireRed/LeafGreen encounters, the Togepi gift and supported evolutions. Sevii has no Gym or League campaign. The Warehouse's original arrow floors move and stop the player. Icefall's thin ice cracks on the first crossing and breaks on reentry; leaving the floor resets it. Original source tiles provide both ice states. Ferries offer explicit destinations and Cancel, and preserve the shared party, storage and progress. Two Island's outdoor market uses its actual stall. Swimmers occupy reachable water; ordinary residents stay on dry floors. Centers separate healing from the PC, and Fly returns outside each island's Center. The source archive has complete painted island layouts but no working transfer, trainer or encounter events. Those systems are adapted here using verified original encounter tables and trainer parties. Retail story gates, event tickets, the Deoxys triangle puzzle, Tanoby letter forms and boulder puzzle, and the Tower's timer/prize formats are not recreated. See `sevii-release-notes.md` and the Sevii provenance and validation reports for exact source reuse and gameplay adaptations. ## Sinnoh Choose **Mum → Travel → Sinnoh → Yes** to arrive beside Mum in Twinleaf. Sinnoh adds **299 maps**, **243 measured door and ramp connections**, **40 scrolling seams**, **264 encounter habitat tables**, eight Platinum-order Gyms, the Elite Four and Cynthia. All **107 Sinnoh species** and the **210-entry expanded regional Pokédex** are obtainable through appropriate habitats, gifts and evolution. Both battle styles, doubles, scaling, individual stats, storage and the shared save continue to apply. The supplied 53 outdoor layouts are retained with documented entrance, bridge and traversal repairs. Source interiors and many named dungeons were blank; their authored layouts use complete original source furnishings and distinct landmark plans. Sunyshore preserves separate ground and solar-walk heights, with automatic transitions at the original ramps. Its lower streets and water remain beneath the bridges. One curb cell is opened at a genuine house courtyard, and two false window/roof entrances are excluded from the region. The physical traversal test starts beside Mum and reaches all 299 maps, every registered door approach, all NPC interaction points and all enabled habitats. It also checks directional ledges and Surf. Exact doorway transfers, Sunyshore ramps, both battle campaigns, one-time gifts and save round trips pass separately. This pass uses runtime tests and rendered-map inspection; local browser control was disabled, so it does not claim a fresh live-browser playtest. See `sinnoh-release-notes.md` and the Sinnoh validation/provenance reports for source data, character fallbacks and campaign limitations. ## Hoenn and Kalos **Getting there:** speak to Mum at home and choose **Travel → Hoenn** or **Travel → Kalos**, then confirm. Each region has its own Mum, eight badges and League campaign. Your party, boxes, bag, individual Pokémon stats and earlier progress travel with you. Keep using the same localhost address and port for the same save. Hoenn adds **310 maps**, its 16 main towns plus the supplied Larousse map, Routes 101–135, islands, forests, caves, undersea areas and major landmarks. There are **204 measured entrances** and **31 walking/Surf connections**. The supplied outdoor map artwork is retained; connected doors, cave-room crops and missing rooms are documented adaptations. Centers use original regional counter rooms, with Nurse Joy behind the healing counter and a separate working storage PC. Fly lands outside the destination Center; Littleroot returns to your home. Hoenn has Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, Flannery, Norman, Winona, Tate & Liza, Wallace, the Elite Four and Steven, using Ruby/Sapphire minimum rosters. All 135 Hoenn species are obtainable, with original normal/shiny art, species-legal moves, source stats and evolution data. The 239 habitat tables use verified Ruby/Emerald encounter records because the supplied Hoenn maps contain no encounter tables. Birch provides starter choices and research; the Weather Institute, Devon researchers and other regional residents provide appropriate gifts. Granite Cave adapts its source Rock Smash Nosepass slot into a rare cave-floor encounter at levels 10–20 because Rock Smash is not implemented. Seven Frontier venues offer their named Brain trainer challenges; their original rental, tournament and other special facility rules are not simulated. Kalos adds **196 maps**, all **16 towns**, Routes **1–22**, eight Gyms, five League chambers, major landmarks and **18 Friend Safari habitats**. Its **153 measured entrances** and **40 scrolling connections** link the region. Lumiose uses radial boulevards and paved districts, coastal towns have shorelines and terraces, Laverre uses woodland courts, and the snowy towns and Frost Cavern use compatible original winter art. New Center rooms use cream-and-blue interiors, while homes and shops reuse complete compatible source compositions. Underground laboratories use indoor art and natural caves keep their cave tiles. **Kalos map provenance:** all 59 supplied Kalos gameplay maps are blank. These layouts are newly authored from unchanged supplied 32-pixel tiles. They are not imported official X/Y maps or an exact recreation of every original layout, story event or puzzle. Buildings, habitats, traversal and campaign progression are playable adaptations. See `kalos-map-provenance.json` for the scope and source palette. Kalos has all **72 new Kalos species** and all **457 Kalos regional Pokédex entries** obtainable through implemented habitats, gifts and evolutions. X/Y habitat records retain location and method distinctions; 145 habitat tables have usable runtime terrain. Twelve Rock Smash tables are retained only as source reference and are excluded from obtainable-species coverage. Fossils and nursery research gifts cover Pokémon whose original method relies on breeding or other systems absent from this game. The four Maison leaders offer standard trainer battles rather than the original Battle Maison streak formats. The shared catalogue contains **721 species** so regional encounters and cross-generation evolution chains have their own art and data. Catalogue membership alone does not create a habitat or an additional region. Legendary/mythical rolls remain **0.05% per eligible species** in designated habitats; Mew retains its roaming exception. Shinies remain independently **1/2,048**. Event-only Kalos mythicals have explicitly authored rare habitats. Town streets and ordinary interiors do not gain random encounters. Kalos adds source-driven gender restrictions, day/night evolutions, party requirements and cross-generation evolution paths. The source level-up move memory supplies move-dependent evolution eligibility while combat retains each species' selected four-move loadout. Route 20's moss habitat, Frost Cavern's ice habitat and Route 13's magnetic field support their corresponding evolutions; the laboratory retains the existing research alternative. Goodra needs its source level and a rainy route or climate research. Individual nature, IVs, EVs and shiny identity persist through evolution. Both regions support **Old style** and **New style**, trainer scaling, captures, quick party switching, doubles, two real-time dash charges, PC boxes, healing and Mum travel. New move behaviors include species signatures, shields, charging moves, multiple hits, recoil, draining and switching attacks. Earlier-region maps and sprite files remain unchanged. **Sprite availability:** the supplied directional collection is incomplete for 18 newly imported species. Four use genuine partial directional sprites; fourteen use their own original normal/shiny battler images with movement poses and battle effects. They do not have seven distinct hand-drawn action animations, and no other Pokémon's art is substituted. Matching supplemental original sheets are pinned to their upstream revisions in the asset provenance. Two missing classic sprite pairs use matching original pixel art at an explicit display scale. All other added art comes from the supplied archive. See `kalos-content-validation.json`, `kalos-asset-provenance.json` and `kalos-classic-asset-provenance.json` and `kalos-supplemental-sprite-provenance.json`. ## Johto and double battles **Getting there:** talk to Mum in your Pallet home, choose **Travel → Johto → Yes**. You arrive beside Johto Mum in New Bark Town. Return to Kanto through the same menu. Both regions share your existing party, boxes and bag; each keeps its own eight badges and League progress. Route 31's western gate uses the supplied Johto gate interior and connects its actual side doorway to Violet's eastern gate. Dark Cave preserves both original cave layouts, uses its visible southern exit for Route 31, and blocks the source's incorrectly flagged black void and cliff-top overlays. Existing saves in the formerly walkable void recover onto visible cave floor when loaded. Johto includes New Bark, Cherrygrove, Violet, Azalea, Goldenrod, Ecruteak, Olivine, Cianwood, Mahogany and Blackthorn, Routes 29–48, major towers, caves, forests, the Lake of Rage, Whirl Islands, Safari Zone and Mt. Silver. Original map geometry and supplied 32-pixel artwork are used where present. Named Johto character sheets are used where identifiable, including Gold, Elm, Falkner, Bugsy, Pryce, Clair, Will and Karen. Center exteriors retain their Johto source designs. Enterable homes, service buildings and stairs have dedicated destinations. The supplied Johto outdoor maps contain no playable trainer/story events, and several named interior maps are blank placeholders. Their services, trainer encounters, gym and League progression and missing interiors are authored adaptations built from compatible original source layouts and tiles. They are not a reproduction of every original story event or puzzle. Four leaders use supplied generic character art because an identifiable named source sheet was unavailable. Kanto map geometry, artwork and existing tilesets are preserved; only shared systems needed by the new battle features and region access were extended. Trainer parties with at least two Pokémon offer **Singles · 1v1** or **Double battle · 2v2** when you have two healthy partners. Your next healthy party member fights independently beside you. Click either enemy card to choose your target. Clicking the AI partner's party portrait exchanges control; New style uses the normal ten-second switch cooldown, while Old style spends your action. Fainted active Pokémon are replaced from reserves. When only the AI partner remains, you automatically take control of it. Both enemies act in real time in New style or take their own ordered turns in Old style, and replace fainted partners from their roster. Four safe spawn positions are required; an unusually narrow arena falls back to singles. The 100 additional species retain source learnsets, normal/shiny animations, base stats, natures and IV/EV behavior. Smeargle starts with Sketch and permanently retains its copied move, including in Team, PC and saves. Wobbuffet uses Counter, Mirror Coat, Safeguard and Destiny Bond. Unown uses Hidden Power, whose type is determined by its individual IVs. Added evolution methods include friendship, local day/night, Sun Stone and held-item link research, and Tyrogue's Attack/Defense conditions. Friendship grows by travelling and winning battles with healthy partners. Professor Elm provides starter and baby research gifts and evolution research; Eevee and Shuckle gifts remain in Goldenrod and Cianwood. Source encounter tables are preserved where usable. Habitat-specific additions fill missing Johto tables. The collection audit checks actual enabled grass, cave-floor and water habitats, gifts and evolution paths, rather than merely checking that species exist in data. All 100 Johto species are obtainable. Raikou, Entei and Suicune have independent 0.05% encounter intervals in Burned Tower; Lugia in Whirl Islands, Ho-Oh in Bell Tower, and Celebi in Ilex Forest use the same rare chance. Mew retains its separate roaming 0.05% chance. Shinies remain independently 1/2,048; the red Gyarados encounter is the intentional guaranteed-shiny exception. ## Doorways, Kanto and shared systems The original Kanto towns, Routes 1–25, forests, caves and major buildings are connected through source map seams, doorways, stairs and repaired route crossings. Maps stream in 512-pixel chunks. Pokémon animation sheets load as needed. The doorway audit checks **142 distinct Kanto exterior entrances**. It aligns Cerulean and Fuchsia rear doors, restores the dry collision on Route 12's existing wooden bridge, fixes both gate returns, and connects both visible Seafoam cave mouths to original ladder exits. The missing Route 7–8 Underground Path uses three recovered, unchanged source room layouts. Route 16's existing house and two gate facades now enter copies of matching supplied interiors. These repairs preserve all pre-existing Kanto map artwork and tile geometry. Johto's ordinary-building pass checks **86 registered entrances**, including **16 previously unlinked doors** already visible in the supplied route and facility maps. It supplies 18 matching interior destinations, including two Center upstairs rooms, using compatible supplied layouts. These include route houses and Centers, the daycare, farm buildings, Battle Tower reception, Lake of Rage houses and the Alph research lab. They are adapted room assignments; missing original facility story systems are not implied by an open entrance. Door alignment, return mats, stair access and the Mahogany shop-to-hideout path are checked separately from region progression. The Johto gate census covers 31 visible gate or lodge facades: 28 accessible faces are connected by the repair, the two working Route 31/Violet faces are retained, and one hidden Ilex rear facade remains enclosed by the source forest. Fourteen gate destinations reuse the supplied gate-room layout, and the Lake of Rage lodge reuses a supplied home layout. Goldenrod and Mahogany's incorrect generic halls are replaced with those gate interiors. This repairs connections between existing areas; it does not expand the region's geography. Cave entry and return points are aligned with the four Whirl Islands mouths, six Alph temple doors, two Union Cave cliff mouths, Mt. Silver and all four visible Mt. Mortar mouths. Route 45/46 entrances link to Dark Cave, and Route 47's upper entrance reaches Cliff Cave. Slowpoke Well and Dragon's Den now arrive on dry floor. The cave image census found 27 mouths: 26 are connected; Route 47's lower cliff-face mouth remains inaccessible source scenery, with no nearby dry approach. Route 41's source sand passage flags are corrected only where the sprite's full foot position sits on visible sand; wet shorelines and rock overlays remain excluded. The bounded Route 34 approach clearance uses original forest-edge tiles, and one supplied staircase marker makes a previously invisible Mt. Mortar return visible. The gate and cave repairs otherwise retain their source building pixels. All eight Gym Leaders have complete opposing battle parties. Defeating a Pokémon sends out the next one; a badge requires defeating the whole team. After eight badges, the League attendant offers the Elite Four and Champion circuit. Saffron's source warp pads connect its chambers, and Vermilion's electric barrier can be deactivated with E at its switch. The Pokémon Center's physical PC opens a Pokémon Box with numbered boxes, a sprite grid, a selected-Pokémon detail pane and a six-slot travelling party. Select a Pokémon to inspect its level, types, moves, nature, IVs and EVs. Each box holds 30 Pokémon. Deposit goes into the selected box; Move lets you select a different box and empty slot. Withdraw leaves the slot empty, and exchanging with the party uses that same slot. The + button adds more boxes. Slot positions persist in saves without replacing your existing collection. It also supports party reordering and explicit exchanges. It preserves HP and prevents depositing the last battle-ready party member. Nurse Joy only heals the travelling party. Box access is not available from her dialogue or the ordinary party menu. Mum offers **Heal Pokémon** and **Travel** as separate choices. Travel shows Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea, with Cancel at the top. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Kalos are available: after confirmation, Mum brings you to the corresponding home in Pallet, New Bark, Littleroot, Twinleaf or Vaniville. Unbuilt regions explain that they have yet to be implemented and do not move the player. Completed island destinations append to this menu without replacing its nine region choices; Sevii Isles, Pokémon Island, Orange Islands and Tiall are available. Healing affects only the current party. All twelve original Pokémon Center nurses stand behind their counters using the supplied original character sheet. Click a nurse to approach the customer side of the counter, or walk there and press E. Every opposing trainer Pokémon uses `max(its minimum level, the highest level in your current party)`. Fainted party members count; PC storage does not. The full opposing team takes one level snapshot when the battle begins, so switching or earning XP cannot change its levels mid-battle. Imported trainers retain their source minimums. Gyms and League rosters without authored levels in the supplied data use explicit campaign minimums recorded in `trainer-baselines.js`. Enemy levels and minimums are visible in the battle HUD. Scaling affects HP, damage and movement speed. Each Pokémon has one of 25 natures, six permanent IVs (0–31), and six trainable EVs (0–252 each, 510 total). Base stats, EV yields, nature modifiers and physical/special move categories come from the supplied Essentials data and scripts. HP and the other five stats use the source level/IV/EV formulas. Natures raise and lower their affected non-HP stats by 10%; five natures are neutral. Attack/Defense and Special Attack/Special Defense affect the corresponding damage categories. Speed affects movement in New style and action order within a priority bracket in Old style. New style's universal Dash keeps its separate movement and cooldown. Open **Team & bag → Stats / IVs / EVs** under a Pokémon to inspect all six values, its nature and EV total. The same details are available in PC storage. Healthy party members that took part against a defeated or captured opponent receive that species' original EV yield once. IVs, nature and shiny identity survive capture, storage, evolution and saves. Transform copies temporary battle stats without changing the Pokémon's permanent genetics. Existing saves receive persistent natures and IVs once, start unrecorded EVs at zero, and recalculate maximum HP from their level and stats. The migration preserves health proportion and never revives a fainted Pokémon. The previous prototype HP values were fixed species values, so the displayed HP totals will change. The roster contains all 251 Kanto and Johto species. Moves are checked against the supplied Essentials learnsets, with distinct real-time attack and support behaviors. Ditto only starts with Transform. The established Mew, Charmander and other loadouts are retained. Battle locations preserve the trainer's encounter position and the current map's collision. Wild encounters now follow each map’s supplied regional habitat tables, with their original slot weights and level ranges. Route 1 has Pidgey and Rattata; Route 2 adds its original local species. Grass, cave floors, Surf and fishing stay separate: Tentacool is not in grass, Meowth is not in water, and empty habitat tables produce no encounter. Fishing uses the strongest source rod table available at that location. Seafoam’s cave-floor list is authored under Land in the supplied data; this one local table is explicitly adapted for its cave floors. Mew is a roaming exception: it has a 0.05% (1 in 2,000) chance in any existing wild-encounter habitat, including grass, caves, Surf and fishing. This never creates encounters on ordinary streets or in houses. Mew also retains its rare Mansion basement encounter, an adaptation for this game. Other legendary species remain regional: Articuno in Seafoam, Zapdos in the Power Plant, Moltres in Victory Road, and Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave after eight badges. Each retains its own 0.05% chance; at these locations Mew and the local legendary have separate probability intervals, so neither reduces the other's chance. The source table supplies the ordinary encounters. Empty habitats stay empty, except the explicitly authored rare Mansion basement check. Existing curated legendary encounters also remain. Shiny status is independent at 1 in 2,048 for wild encounters. All 251 species have their supplied original shiny animations and portraits. Captures retain shiny status in the party, PC, saves and evolution; normal and shiny versions remain the same species. The complete collection uses regional encounters, evolutions, starter/gift Pokémon, fossil restoration and designated legendary encounters. Damage checks **both** defending types from the source type chart. Hits display **Super effective · 2×**, **Extremely effective · 4×**, **Not very effective · ½× / ¼×**, or **No effect · 0×** beside the damage number. Immunities inflict zero damage. Transform and Reflect Type copy both types, including their resistances and same-type attack bonuses. Status moves use their specific immunities; ongoing poison, burn and Leech Seed damage do not receive another weakness/resistance multiplier. Both battle health panels show the actual party total and how many Pokémon remain ready, with active, ready, fainted and caught indicators. Counts update on switching, automatic replacements, captures and knockouts. The panels sit above the arena so they do not cover combat or hit labels. Victories and catches award XP. Eligible level evolutions appear in the party menu. Oak's local research service provides stone and link evolutions for money. Cinnabar's fossil researcher restores Omanyte, Kabuto and Aerodactyl. Curated encounters place Magmar in the Mansion, Articuno in Seafoam, Zapdos in the Power Plant, Moltres in Victory Road and Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave; Mewtwo requires eight badges. These encounters and research services are adaptations for this game, not imported original event scripts. ## Source and adaptations Map tiles, room layouts, tilesets, character sheets and source encounter/learnset/evolution data come from `C:/Users/jared/Downloads/MY GAME ASSETS/`. The original map files are parsed as data; embedded Ruby is not executed. Source PNG assets are copied without repainting. Derived chunks, depth layers and small floor patches reuse those pixels. The supplied project has stale map IDs, missing passage settings and some unused atlas rooms. This build repairs Kanto topology, classifies cave/gym/indoor floors, aligns the eastern Viridian doors, restores tree/lamp/mailbox depth and uses a trainer-foot collision footprint. The three decorative eastern Viridian homes reuse supplied home interiors. The outer two bushes beside the eastern homes and the school’s clipping planter boxes have been removed, leaving the middle bush. Pewter’s terrace approach is clear, and its fanclub, terrace home and market-side home have doors and return exits using unchanged original interior layouts. The neighboring lower house was moved one tile south with its original art to make room for the terrace stairs; its door and return position moved with it. The museum’s return stairs are also traversable. Six ship cabin links with no door in the source art were removed. Pokémon animation sheets come from the supplied PokéSurvivor/SpriteCollab asset pack. Its license and credit files remain alongside this README. This is an unofficial local fan-game prototype. Original story scripting, every original puzzle, move effect and trainer event have not all been reproduced. Both combat modes, progression and research services adapt those systems; this is not a certified bug-free or production AAA release. ## Validation The expansion reports are `hoenn-runtime-validation.json`, `kalos-runtime-validation.json`, `hoenn-doorway-validation.json`, `kalos-doorway-validation.json`, `hoenn-moves-validation.json`, `kalos-moves-validation.json`, `expansion-progression-validation.json`, `expansion-sprites-validation.json` and `expansion-browser-validation.json`. They check the installed build, actual doorway round trips, scrolling seams, service access, Fly arrivals, habitat geometry, obtainable species, move behavior and preserved earlier-region files. Browser checks also exercise Mum travel, regional Centers, city and cave traversal, both battle presentations and source-art fallbacks. See `kanto-validation.json`, `johto-validation.json`, `doorway-validation.json`, `route31-validation.json` and `battle-style-validation.json` and `classic-presentation-validation.json` for the checks performed on this build. Automated checks cover topology, door and stair landing safety, gym access, species-legal moves, party replacement/cooldowns, PC storage, saves, collision approaches, ledges, Surf and progression. Battle checks cover mode locks, waiting for turn input, move order, PP, status effects, switching, captures, party replacement and doubles. Kanto doorway tests compare the published data against an immutable baseline, verify unchanged pre-existing artwork, and exercise 28 runtime interactions with exact arrivals and return paths. Johto checks exercise all 86 ordinary entrances and 403 exit-mat segments, all 12 Center services, and measured gate/cave entrances with source-pixel floor checks. Route 31 checks additionally reject walkable black void and test recovery of older cave-position saves. Browser checks include both combat styles, Route 12 and Route 16 gates, the recovered Underground Path, Route 34's gate approach, Mt. Mortar's cave-floor arrival, and the Route 32 Center. These checks do not substitute for exhaustive playtesting of every map and interaction. ## Vanguard / Ayrei Mum → Travel → Vanguard opens the added Ayrei world. It retains 234 native map layouts and uses the existing official Pokémon catalogue and both battle modes. See vanguard-import-notes.md for source repairs, replacements and the boundary around the original Ruby story engine. ## Pewter Survivor Club Talk to the Pewter Fan Club host to launch the supplied PokeSurvivor game. The persistent Return to Fan Club button returns to your exact journey spot. Survivor progress saves separately and locally. See pewter-survivor-notes.md for controls, integration details and validation. ## Sprite selection and Breakout Use the header's Sprites button to select Survivor or the reviewed official OG walkers outside combat and conversations. Mum's Travel menu now includes Breakout, with a return through its Mum. See [Breakout and sprite notes](breakout-and-sprites-notes.md) for coverage, controls, adaptations and checks. ## Full-screen desktop and touch layout The game now fills its viewport. Open the in-game Menu for Map, Team & bag, both style settings, sound, pause, controls/credits and Full screen where supported. Touch devices show a movement thumbstick, Talk/Enter and a hold-to-Run button that becomes Dash in real-time battles. Moves and party portraits remain directly tappable; classic battles retain their original command menus. Keyboard and mouse controls remain available. The overworld adapts its camera to the screen; battle coordinates stay fixed and the entire arena fits above the command dock when the viewport changes. Safe-area insets and mobile keyboard height are accommodated. Cancelling a touch, opening a panel, changing orientation or switching apps releases touch movement. Regional artwork, species data, save keys and combat rules are unchanged. Automated checks cover seven viewport sizes, multi-touch/cancellation, both battle styles, storage text-entry guards, and 71-map navigation at a 390×844 viewport. These are runtime/layout-model checks, not physical-device visual certification; browser automation remains disabled in the current Work environment.
